Loose Lips Sink Ships

Every time a thought is put into words, it is a creative act (thus the term, language arts).

I am SzOo Much More than some ditzy fashion whore. I love poetry, art & photography as well. I'll start posting that too just because.. you know... Like... I can... SzOo yea. I won't only post mine but also friends' poetry & those of fellow creative minds that I find everywhere.. This'll be fun.. No??

Zero Amor G-Mixed *Sample*

Mahogany baby
Tear stained pupils
& I listened closely as you sung sighs
Deep breaths…
I watched you from underneath that space between door and tiled floor
As if I was trying to keep my distance
Afraid I’d say the wrong thing
But
They tried to pry us apart
Because what you have is contagious
& dare you spread your knowledge
I’d be just as insane and…
They never cared to read beyond the pages...
Between the lines of
XXL and Daily News Articles…
The devil is in the detail…
& they never understood when you’d set yur watch according to yur own NY Times
You were always prepared if those yellow taxis ever took a left turn into twin trade centers
But they’d say you were the breeding ground for conspiracies
Mahogany baby
You were racist if you didn’t date a boy of your kind
You were a trader
Lynched by false advertising, gentrification
& mahogany don’t crack so they tried to break you
They tried to belittle you & play you…
Having found out you found refuge when others sought...
Hurricane Willie flooded the neighborhoods of babies with melanin in skin
& those who precede you suffer most from the syndrome…
On other side of closed door I’m only tryna save you
I wanna tell you that I feel you..
But having been raped by man & lies & woman & government
I don’t want you to take offense…
I wanna tell you to confide in me…
But having bled more often than every 28 days
I’m sure periods would follow….

I Met Her On The A Train On My Way To Brooklyn...

The Art Of... The Mix & Match

"STREET FASHION; A Perfect Mismatch: Separates With Snap"
NY Times. Published: Sunday, May 22, 1988

WAAAIITT!! I Got Accepted Into NYU!! *screams* Now BaQ To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming... HmMm SzOo I Always Match. Have Been Matching Since I Was Knee High To A Grasshopper & SHxT BUT There Is Def An Art To Mismatching & Some People O.D. Or Like FuQ iT Up.. Bright Neons W/ Pastels & Fall Colors... Like UgHh Seriously?? I Love the outfits below..

I respect the dark colors bering paired with colors of equally dark composition... I like when 1 bright color in a dark outfit makes the outfit pop & vise versa. I also respect the fact that if yur gonna be bright, go bright & hard all the way, don't half ass the outfit... I like accessories that pull a mismatch outfit together.. I enjoy animal prints & a balance between colors, bright & dark, when done nicely.. HmMm
The female in the last pic had on brown boots & her leggings were some other bright color. I can respect the balance & how she pulled it off & put it together because the dark brown, burgundy & pink are close colors while her bright leggings were complimented by the bright dress @ that pulled the outfit together.. UghH yu would have had to see the outfit...
I think confidence, regardless of how much the outfit matches, is what bow ties a good outfit..

"Peace if Possible; War if Necessary..."

If "street-style" blogs are useful right now, in this difficult economic time, then it is because they highlight simple little styling tricks that can inspire us to see the wardrobe we already own in a new way.

^^ absolutely one of my fav. style blogs

I love my school friends because we are nothing alike. Personalities often clash, styles clash, intellect often clashes during class discussion but we're all still amazing I swear.. Senior trip was a blast. Class Of '09!! & We definitely WERE The Party.. BUT Why Were These Kids About To Fight Over Nasty, Soggy Fried Chicken SMH! Grow Up

Mark & Brooklyn
Mark & Nadege

Mark- I love Mark's Bapes first of all, the fit of his pants is often perfect, dare I say & he wears them up properly w/ a belt!! Boys Step Ya SHxT Up! There's often a danger in being too matchy right? x_x BUT He wasn't & I admire the matching plaid shirt. Which swings me over to tint of jeans Yes!! MUY IMPORTANTE People.. UgHh I hate when the tint of the jean does nothing to compliment the outfit BUT Mark Def got the tint & Fit Right.. iDiGG!
Nadege- Now, if ya'll didn't know, I hate leggings BUT Nadege def pulled it off nicely to me. I've only seen 2 females do the legging thing nicely & 1 work worked at Ameri.can Apparel anyway So DUH. She didn't wear the leggings with a button up or oversized tee & the mocassin boots give 'em that pants look right? If her sweater was unbuttoned the outfit would do nothing for me. Kudos for that outfit Nah Diggy hehe...
Brooklyn (me)- American Apparel is like heaven to me... SzOo, I wore the belt to hold the sweater in a nice position that would allow the rock band KISS to show on my tee. I have a slim waist, nice thick legs & foot tattoo so I try to show that off as well. HmMm. I also try to color coordinate & theme coordinate. KISS Thrift store Tee= Rock & Roll damaged flats.. Am App Sweater= Am app skirt, waist belt & glasses... ^_^
